On August 3, 1862 there were several skirmishes. One was in Jonesboro and others were at Jackson, Longuelle’s Ferry, and another at Scatterville. In 1863 on this date, the Federal army was on day one of a six day scouting expedition to Yellville and other expedition was starting up the White and Little Red Rivers. In 1864 on this date the Union army was on day three of five of operations in Eastern Arkansas.
