On Sunday, July 17 in the Arkansas Democrat/Gazette was an article about a book, National Geographic The Civil War: A Traveler’s Guide. This book is developed in partnership with the Blue and Gray Education Society and the book aims “to put the war in historical perspective and present the breadth of the conflict.” Highlights include a state-by-state breakdown of more than 600 battlefields and Civil War related sites. There is a 16-page section on Arkansas. You can order this book through National Geographic for $25.95 or get it through Amazon Prime for $17.60. Sounds like a good read.

The next meeting of the AR Civil War Roundtable will be Tuesday, August 23rd with Ron Kelley as our speaker.
