Arkansas in the Civil War: A Military Atlas

Arkansas in the Civil War: A Military Atlas

On a beautiful Sunday morning on the battlefield in Helena, the Arkansas Toothpick wishes all the mothers out there the best on Mother’s Day. Over the past week the Arkansas Toothpick began gearing up for the release of Arkansas in the Civil War: A Military Atlas. We began offering a free postcard featuring the legend of the atlas simply by sending us your name and mailing address to info@arkansastoothpick.com. Not only will we send you a postcard of the legend immediately, but we will also send you another when the book is released.

The release of this book is the single largest event in the 10 year history of the Arkansas Toothpick. Over the next couple weeks we will feature content from the atlas leading up to the release date on June 10- just in time for Father’s Day.

Speaking of Father’s Day, the American Queen steamboat will be in Helena on Father’s Day and the community of Helena, Arkansas will feature a Civil War-themed tour of the Civil War sites, including Fort Curtis and Freedom Park. There will we living historians on hand including civilians, artillery, and infantry. It will be the perfect time to come over with the family and enjoy a fine day of Civil War heritage. All events and interpretation is family friendly!
