Cannon in Battery C Park in Helena, Arkansas at dawn.

For the past several months I have been walking my dog up to Battery C Park in Helena, the site the Confederates overtook in the Battle of Helena, and taking photos from about every angle of every interpretative element the park has to offer and, though I cannot post updates every day on this site, please take note of the top menu and you will see the tab INSTAGRAM FEED”. This morning’s photos are posted on this site only as an example of almost daily shots of the battlefield in Helena, Arkansas.

Over the past few years Civil War Helena has increased their Civil War interpretation to include every aspect of the war in the small Delta community, but most of the photos are of sunrise photos taken from 100 feet above Helena looking back toward the Mississippi River. Be sure to watch for these daily shots; the photos are also uploaded to the Arkansas Toothpick’s Facebook page.
If you are interested in becoming a Civil War reenactor/Living historians and are 14 years and older, or if you are of the same age and would like to help maintain and preserve the battlefield in Helena, please email us info@arkansastoothpick.com.
